alvaserra

Nicolas Alvarez Serrano’s varied project portfolio is thanks to his time at the University of Miami. A mix of school projects and passion projects, each creation serves a multitude of people and allows for different uses and interpretations.

Whether it’s social housing, resort branded residences, an exterior staircase, or a sculpture, inspiration from Latin American and Italian design principles are always taken, contemporized, and applied as an homage to those ideas. ALVASERRA provides spaces for innovative designs to be applied to the aforementioned regions, among others, continuing the trajectory these design principles have always taken.

The use of music for each project is also crucial, both culturally and for the experience; make sure to check out the “project song” located at the bottom of each design description.

ALVASERRA seeks to use architecture as a method to change ideas and emotions just as much as it does aesthetics and landscapes.

NICO’S STORY

Having lived in five cities across three countries, I’m proud to have been exposed to a variety of societal and architectural influences, leading to a strong passion in linguistics (I’m fluent in four languages), international business, and most significantly, design.

Although not physically available for interaction, my hope is that my projects convey the idea that they are currently addressing the needs of those whom they were built for.

I attended the University of Miami, as an Architecture major, and Portuguese minor, having graduated in May, 2023.
