I NUOVI SESSANTADUE

I NOUVI SESSANTADUE, or IN62 , is a mixed use residential project located on Isole Sant’Elena, Venice. Spanning across 486 feet of canal frontage, the building, a contemporary interpretation of venetian architecture, offers living, shopping, and relaxation for both its residents and all venetians alike. I NUOVI SESSANTADUE translates to ‘THE NEW 62’, as there are 62 units throughout the building’s seven floors, ranging from 750 sq.ft., one bedroom apartments to the 6,000+. sq.ft. penthouse.

The building is composed of raw concrete and glass, and clad with wooden screens, which take the shape of distorted windows and entryways found on venetian palazzi and churches. The screens inhabit the lower floors of the building, differentiating the public areas from the private, residential areas above. The ground floor houses lobbies, gyms, a three bedroom unit, and Ristorante Ombra. Located under the shaded middle part under the large overhangs, the name originates from the phrase “andemo a farse un’ombra”, a term used by venetians to invite friends for an aperitif under areas shaded by large palazzo’s or bell towers

Parco Sessantadue sits atop the forementioned overhangs, accessed from both the east and west wings of the building. This park is exclusive to residents, and sits just above the surrounding rooftops, in turn offering unparalleled views.
