ARP AND CHILLIDA: TURNING PAINTINGS INTO SCULPTURES

Artistic exercise where a painting by Hans Arp, and an etching by Eduardo Chillida were transformed into three-dimensional art installations. Arp’s work was converted into a multilayered, contemporized screen, while Chillida’s piece was transformed into a sculpture in a later class which followed the jagged shapes found in his etching, transforming it into a gravity-defying piece.

The screens were to be ideally placed along the University of Miami School of Architecture, Murphy Studio building, as temporary art installations. The sculpture could be placed anywhere, from a home to a park, as an interactive structure.
